Although it’s already three days since my first Spring Festival in Singapore , that past experience is somehow still calling for my deep thought .However , what I’m considering about has nothing to do with homesick or parties on the New Year’s Eve,instead it’s a phenomenon which highlight our lack of consideration for others.
Traditionally , our seniors in NUS would invite us to their hall for the reunited dinner ,but first of all we have to go shopping with them in GIANT as preparation. We were told to choose anything we would like to eat freely without worrying about the price, then the seniors left us and we shopped respectively . We were so excited at their words that our basket was soon full of foods , drinks and seasonings .Half an hour later , however , when the seniors came to check our basket ,they really disappointed and embarrassed us .One of them put back almost all the items we chose and kept saying something like “no one will like to eat this” and “that’s a waste of money!”
Despite that , we were still cheerful enough to help them carry twenty-three bags of food back to NUS . Then ,the public kitchen became a bustling place , but only for we juniors .Unexpectedly ,our elder sisters and brothers just sat there listening to music , surfing the Internet or watching on-line movies while we chop potatoes and stew meat . During that time they ordered three pizzas .It really astonished us when they left one for us and finished the other two as soon as possible (as if we would snatch the pizza pieces from their mouth ),then continued concentrating on their own business .The only activity they showed interest in joining us was to eat up every dish immediately after it was served. They even never bothered to call out a number when it was time to count down .The rest of the party went on like that ,ending up with everyone feeling exhausted and boring the next morning .This time I was greatly shocked by my fellows , they were in such a hurry to go back to take a shower that they slamed the kitchen door without saying goodbye to our seniors ,let alone a "Happy New Year".
Apparentely ,most of us regard the party as a big shame .But on a second thought , our seniors may have invited us just out of responsibility rather than having us as their dear friends ,which made them inconsiderate .As for ourselves , we failed to realise that the seniors had their own business to mind and may have joined us with a certain reluctance .Besides , they could even have finacial difficulties to prepare for the party . In this way , it turned out that our unhappiness came from our lack of consideration for others .
Anyway , this was my first Chinese New Year in a different country, whatever the result is ,I'll keep it in mind for long .

What a shame you didn`t have happy memories of the occasion. But we learn from all our experiences. And it is this that helps us mature in our attitude towards people and towards situations. Even if the seniors may have done it out of obligation, you all must still appreciate the effort they have put in.You`re right to realise this.
